sleep seizure

by sweetie1, Jun 12, 2008 09:41PM
My child is having what seems to be sleep seizure in the early morning, which only happens once a month or twice.  He starts out in his sleep stiffen in his body, and his whole body jerks, his mouth is open and saliva comes out and his eyes are set in his head.  It only lasts a minute or two, and then he goes relax but is still sleep and can't be woken up for 15 to 30 minutes, and when he does he's weak.  We have had him take an EEG, but didn't show anything, sleep lab, blood work done, EKG, his thyroid check.  He has an appointment with a neurologist tomorrow.  This has happen 8 times since January of this year.  It seems to be slepp seizure, and I wondering if this will go away some time.  I believe they will put him on medicine for a time.  He is 17 years old, and has never had any problems until now.  Please respond.
