I have been experiencing severe pain to my extremitiesExtremity arteriography and back for over five years. After going through pain management with no luck I had a mylogram. The spinal fluid is infected(mediumMedium chain triglycerides to High) lab tests are unsuccessful in determining the cause of the infection.Any thoughts????
Thanks for writing in.
Infection in the spinal fluid usually indicates meningitis or encephalitis. If the blood tests are negative it is important to do a culture of CSF to diagnose the kind of infection.
There is also a possibility that this aseptic meningitis when a person has signs and symptoms of meningitis but bacteria do not grow in culture. It is usually a harmless disease and goes away after 5-15 days.
Please discuss this possibility with your doctor. Take care!
