spine issues

I have been diagnosed with lumbar
spondylosis and cervical spondylosis.  can you tell me what this means and what is the prognosis?
Avatar dr f tn
Hi,
How are you? Spondylosis usually refers to the presence of spinal degeneration and the likelihood of multilevel spondylosis- such as with cervical and lumbar area- becomes increasingly common as we age.  Treatment depends on the symptoms present such as pain and stiffness; muscle weakness or stiffness; fatigue, numbness or tingling in the extremities or  pins-and-needles sensation. ve management includes pain medication, hot/cold therapy, massage, and physical therapy. However, if these are not effective, surgical management may be done. Discuss this with your doctor for proper management. Take care and do keep us posted.
