staph infection in csf post brain surgery

Wondering if any one has dealt with this type of infection in csf and how hard is it to combat. I am on zyvox at the current time. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank Tou

My husband had brain surgery 4 weeks ago.  2 weeks after sugery he developed a fever.  They said it was most likely introduced at the time of surgery.  He spend 3 days in the hospital on IV antibiotics and then was released with oral zyvox, and cipro.
The area is still oozing here and there but no fever.  Hope this does it.
