Hi, Thank you for your question. From, your description of symptoms, it appears that you are experiencing unexplained one sided muscle weakness or paralysis of the face that is called recurrence of Bell’s palsy (inflammation of 7th cranial nerve). Mostly it occurs after some viral infection, any neurological disorder, and head injury or in cancer. Other symptoms could be pain in jaw of the affected side, drooling of saliva, dropping of eyelid, ringing in the ear, headache, decreased sense of taste, difficulty with speech, and problems eating and drinking. Though it is not a life threatening condition, it is essential that a neurologist needs to be immediately consulted who would like to conduct electromyography (EMG test), nerve conduction studies and MRI to find out the extent and cause.  Most of the doctors suggest steroids, anti-retroviral medicines, botulism injection and physiotherapy to recover from the condition. Hope this helps.

I had bellspalsy 4 years ago since then I haven't been right. The droopiness is completely gone but I have episodes of pressure in my face, ears and neck.I also get headaches(sometimes)and sensitivity of my saliva glands under my ears.It also feels like a nerve is jumping in my left ear and my teeth are sensitive.I have had a brain and ct spine mri, xray's of the sinuses and and eeg all came back normal by a neurologist.I went to see an ent and he said it could be post herpatic neuralgia, well I never saw any signs of herpes except a couple of years ago and prior years before a bad cold sore on my lip but what does that have to do with my ear?I also saw a rheumatologist to rule out an auto immune disease and all tests came back normal.I've had tests for hiv,hep c,heavy metal toxins, allergies, thyroid, cortisol,if I could think of it I requested the test(also lyme's test)all normal.I thought about parasites or worms but don't know how or what tests to get.I just hate feeling like this.In addition I have problems with my knees hurting bad at night and numbness in my left toes and foot(the doctors say it is caused by low vitamin d(20).I have tried to find long term side effects of bellspalsy but couldn't really find anything.
