strange sensation in legs

by maryjpikul, Aug 14, 2007 12:22AM
I have been having strange sensations in both legs for a little over one month.  It started at my left ankle, moved up to my knee and then started in the other leg.  I began to feel a tightening and tingling, sometimes like pins and needles and sometimes like a tickle.  I also for a short time expierenced the tickle/tingle in my arms from wrists to elbow.  I also noticed two swollen spots at the mid-top front of both of my thighs.  My primary didn't feel there was anything to worry about and since I was having some back pain for some time (which has subsided greatly with Chiropractic care) felt it was most likely something pinching a nerve, I did not mention swollen (it is not a soft swollen but feels like a muscle) spots at time of visist because I hadn't noticed them.  She referred me to a Neurologist and I am awaiting my appointment.  Does this sound like something such as MS, what could the swollen like spots be?  I have been reading other's posts and anxiety has come up a lot.  I do have a long history of anxiety/panic and was on and off Paxil for about 7 years.  Just prior to the symptoms I got off of the paxil and have been anxious at times but not panicky.  I should mentiont that I am mostly anxious about this condition, could it have something to do with getting off Paxil and anxiety?

It does sound like anxiety, but always going to get checked out is the best thing. I habe these feelings too, and am told that  it is anxiety. I get it all over though but during the day it is not that bad, then at night I get bad. My mom has Resstless Leg Syndrome and so did my grandma. I am starting to think that I have that. I always worry ablout MS. It is in the back of my head always, But my doctors says that I have been having these symptoms for so long that I would have other symptoms by now. I don't think that you have MS.
