A neurologist ordered MRI. The EEG are normal. Spinal fluid is clear only 1 WBC. The spinal tap I had 2 needle aspirations did not feel the needle at all. No STDs. Since I am a preschool teacher I'm sure I'm exposed to all kinds of germs. Hard not to think it isn't related to the Enbrel with the timing ect sudden onset. I see the neurologist again today so will see. They have mentioned plasmapheresis do that maybe the next step. Really frustrating. My hands have cleared.
I had the same issue. my left arm contracting in and weak and weakness on the leg on the same side.
currently it's getting better but still weak below the knee on the left leg and on the left arm. I've had psoriasis for 30 years it doesn't have anything to do with it.
in my case weakness in the leg is ascending, from the sole of the feet, ankle and tibial muscle.
I don't know what it is because I haven't been diagnosed, must be some Infectious/Immunological problem. I do have a small spinal disc herniation in the dorsal area but I don't think it can be causing that.
Who prescribed the MRI to you? did you see a Neurologist?
you should do the full autoimmune work up. if weakness is severe EMG to the limbs.
the rash on the palms with blisters might no be psoriasis. you should have a second opinion on it from another specialist. have you been exposed to infections or STDs?
if it all turns out to be negative it could be a transient immunological problem, sometimes they can be treated with steroids or Plasmapheresis (replacing blood plasma with clean plasma to get rid of the antibodies that are paralysing the limbs)
yes,i am 22 yo and have had ecxema since 5. I am a pre school teacher and noticed sloughing of skin on my palms with blister. I thought it might be a allergy to latex the derm thought it was psoriasis and started me on Enbrel 50mg 2 times a week 12 hours after the 2nd dose i suddenly noticed my rt arm elbow down was numb then slowly it progressed over 20 min to my whole rt side of my body. MRI/MRA are clear. I have not changed any in 8 weeks no more Enbrel. Now my rt arm is contracting in. Please any help would be appreciated.
are you saying they're giving you Enbrel only for psoriasis? you mean arthritic psoriasis? what were your symptoms/problems in the first place?
Newly diagnosised Psoriasis
I can only guess that the cause of the right sided weakness is the same they gave you Enbrel for.
probably you've been misdiagnosed and it made it worse. what was the problem, why are you taking the drug?
