Amenorrhea - primary doc said most likely the blood vessel in my inner ear suddenly died, like a stroke. I am very healthy
before the hearing loss.
My first question is what should I do to prevent this happen again in my other ear? How to prevent a stroke ?
My second question : is it possible to revive the hair cell now, three weeks after the onset of the illness?
Thank you for your kind reply!

The best way to prevent this occurring again is to treat it just as you would
the prevention of any stroke, in other words, have a work-up to find out why
the stroke occurred innthe first place, this involves checking blood pressure,
cholesterol, investigation of the large arteries in the neck which supply
blood to the brain and checking for abnormal heart rythyms which can cause
blood clots to form.
The next step shopuld be to take a blood thining agent like asprin to reduce
.the chances of this occurring again.
The chances of any substantial recovery in this ear are very low at this stage,
on the other hand this is a rare manifestation of a stroke, the chances
of the exact corresponding artery on the other side having exactly the same
problem are very low so there is no reason to suppose the same thing should happen again.
