sudden onset of vertigo

Let me start by saying I just underwent a partial neuphrectomy in Oct. for a malignant kidney tumor. Last Tuesday I had an episode. I took 2 percocets for pain at 10 pm and at 11 pm I got up to use the restroom and when I got back into bed, I had a sudden, excruciating pain in the front left side of my head, my neck contracted, then my back arched and all I could do was grab the sheets. Then  the room started spinning, I broke into a sweat and got very nauseated. Since then I have had terrible Vertigo problems. I don't know how long I was like that. When I was able to move, my neck felt like it had been wrenched and both of my ears and eyes hurt. The next day I couldn't function. Even laying still with my eyes closed the room would spin and I'd get sick all over again. I made it to the Dr. on Thursday but he didn't let me explain how it began and he told me that it was common Vertigo, did a few simple tests, like having me follow his finger with my eyes, squeeze his hands..that kind of stuff. He wrote me a scrip for Antivert and looked in my earsm said they were fine and sent me on my way. The first couple of days I responded alright to the Antivert, except for when I laid down or turned my head and now it's almost like I'm not taking anything. My follow up visit for my surgery is on the 22nd. Should I wait until then to get a second opinion? Does anyone think I had some kind of seizure? I feel like my Dr. tried to blame it on my fibrimialgia. When I get these "dizzy spells", I have fallen and cannot control my eyes...any ideas?
