Yes, I had one day fever 100.5 and very sore throat and developed full blown cold but fever I suspect was symptom for inflammation coming on. Because following mild neck/back/ shoulder pains, I was attacked with unbelievable painful locked shoulder joint which I believe was delayed adverse reaction from Augmentin. Never will take it again although I had it before and didn't have problem then.
I wish people would stop saying Augmentin is not known to cause arthralgia, myalgia because there are so many instances that it did if you surf the internet on patient reviews. I took Aumentin 875 mg x 10 days for inner ear infection. On the 13th day I started having mild neck and shoulder blade pain then went away with massage. Then got some pains on different areas encircling shoulder joint I thought just a mild pulled muscle.Symptoms happened insidiously. On the 20th day, it locked my joint with severe excruciating pain. Doctor doesn't believe it has something to do with Augmentin but I definitely do! Now my both knees are tingling. I took Augmentin before but I had no problem with it! Now I am out of work and need to see an ortho md and blood works for rheumatoid arthritis , lymes disease, etc. I am doing a lot of praying I thought I was going to die, detoxyfying with some charcoal but I need to take low dose Motrin for inflammation inside my joints/muscles and almost all day massage on locked area, painful stretching and hot and cold water therapy. Been doing this x 5days, praise God I am 50% better. Very Dangerous Side Effects!
I had these symptoms years ago. Drs couldn't figure it out. Do you have a low grade temp? If so, could be Rheumatic fever. I eventually got spots in my whole field of vision.(I thought that only happened in the Saturday morning cartoons!)
I had a fever for a month. I limped for 6 months but finally got over it. The spots faded.
Hope this helps someone!
Hi,
How are you?
Augmentin is not known to cause neck stiffness and pain in joints.
Why were you taking augmentin?
Sudden neck stiffness and joint pain can be cervical spondilitis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and meningitis. It is only after clinical examination and tests like X ray or CT scan that an exact diagnosis can be made.
I would urge you to seek immediate medical attention. Do keep us posted!
