sudden sharp head pains

for the past 5 years or so i have been getting these sudden sharp pains in my right temple. they only happen every once in a while and only last for a few seconds.they have gotten worse and closer together as the years have progressed. my grandmother had a brain tumer years before i was born, i dont know if maybe it is herreditary or what. i dont want to go to the doctor about it. i am in the millitary and i dont want anyone around me to know of these pains. they dont happen everyday or even every week. they are very random. do you have any information on what it mite be and if i have any need to worry?
