sudden unsteady gait

I got out of bed this morning and almost fell back in! I was "leaning" to my left and could barely walk. I had no pain, just dizziness and unsteady, maybe a slight naseua and headache.
I never felt like this before. I am a 55 year old woman. The unsteady part really concerns me. I am still feeling a little unstedy but not so much as when first getting out of bed.
do I need to see my doctor?

You have asked a million dollar question. Probably it isn't serious, but it might be. Often, the loss of "sense of level" is due to an infection within the inner ear, or a palsy of one of the connecting nerves. It could be from infection, either vital or bacterial. Usually these symptoms are self-limiting and disappear within three to five days. Be especially careful when you walk. Curiously ginger tea will often resolve the symptoms. Take five thin slices of fresh ginger in a cup of steaming hot water and let steep for twenty minutes. Remove the slices, add sweetener and drink. Three cups a day are the usual treatment, four hours apart.

Hello, my opinion is that it isnt serious. It happens sometimes to me,and I've seen many people who had the same problem, but it was nothing serious.
