suprascapular denervation, ALS?

suprascapular denervation, ALS?

Hi

I'm a 25 years old Portuguese male(so sorry for any spelling mistakes).

Five months ago I had severe neck and shoulder (both left side) pain for about 2/3 weeks, the pain was pesistent. As I was getting better from the pain I noticed reduce mobility in my left arm. The ortopedist noticed muscular atrophy in the supra and infraspinatus , made a Cervival Spine TAC , shoulder X-ray and Needle EMG to the shoulder muscles. Cervical TAC and X-ray were fine.
A week ago I made the Needle EMG. Crhonic denervation was found in the supra and infraspinatus but all the other shoulder muscles were perfectly ok. The day after I read in the internet about ALS, I started thinking that was what I got. The former week  my eyes started fasciculating. After reading the articles about ALS I started felling fasciculation all over the body but especially in the calfs and legs (no fasciluations on the feet, hands, trhoat or tongue), they aren't visible but I fell them.
two days ago I went to the Neurologist. he said it couldn't bet ALS because of the pain I felt (it wasn't cramps, it was constant very high pain) and because all the other shoulder muscles were perfectly ok, he thinks it may something like a parsonage turner syndrome or brachial plexus neuritis, but send me to make a cervical spine Magnetic Ressonance, blood tests and a Tac to the upper torax just to be shure. Yesterday I was in the mirror observing my atrophied muscles I noticed a difference in the left Sternocleidomastoid, it appear atrophied but i don't have lack of strenght in the neck. AlS? or Brachial Neuropathy?

I would agree with your neurologist that based on the history you have provided this appears to be Parsonage Turner syndrome. However, without examining you I cannot make a clinical diagnosis. It appears the neurologist is doing the appropriate testing. I think ALS would be unlikely. Good luck.
