switching from pamelor to cymbalta

by Jrsygrl109, Sep 26, 2008 12:37PM
I was on cymbalta 60mg for mild, transient depression and taped off because I felt 1) I was no longer depressed and 2) I wanted to use pamelor for smoking cessation.  It took 4 - 5 weeks to taper off the cymbalta (yes, with all of the withdrawal effects) but the pain in my spine exploded.  I endured and started taking 25mg of pamelor about 2.5 weeks ago and haven't smoked since.
Now the question is - do I need to taper off the pamelor to go back on the cymbalta - I can't stand the pain anymore and all docs that think I might have fibro say that lyrica (out of the question because I am on neurontin for panic disorder) and cymbalta are the only drugs out there for fibro.
