swollen lymphs and nerve pain

by 4evereve2009, Aug 15, 2009 11:00PM
I have been trying 2 get a diagnosis and figure out what's happening for almost 6 months now. I now know that I have some type of nerve damage. I won't find out exactly what until I go back 2 neurology on Monday. I had swollen lymph nodes in the back of my neck for a long time now. But I first recognized the swollen node in my throat then i developed the larger one in the back of my neck.i lost my gag reflex from the nerve damage. im thinking that the swollen nodes are what initially caused the  nerve issues. could this be? additionally, i have tiny spots on my hands and feet that i think are some type of blood spots. i thought that an allergic reaction to something but how would the spots get from my hands to feet or vice versa? could the nerve damage actually come from the swollen nodes?

Hi,
The causes of swollen lymph nodes in the neck are – Bacterial or viral infections ., HIV , Inflammation of the lymph nodes , Cancer of head and neck region  and blood cancer . Swelling of lymph nodes as such is not a cause of  nerve damage but the underlying cause of lymph node swelling may also be a cause of nerve damage like a viral infection . Please consult a physician and surgeon for examination , investigations and treatment . A lymph node biopsy is very essential for diagnosis . Hope this helps you . Take care and regards !
