tarsal tunnel syndrome

Posted By Cindy on June 02, 1998 at 11:53:26:

I had tarsal tunnel release surgery in early January 1998.  This involves my right ankle and results from a previous ankle fracture  from May 1995.  The surgery went fine and my ankle seemed to respond well until I went back to work full time.  The foot began mostly the same symtoms (symptoms) as before the surgery  with pain, numbness, etc.  Doctor gave me accomodators.  This helped for a while.  Now foot is sensitive along surgical scar.  Touching this area produces tingling in middle/back of arch on bottom of foot.  Anytime I don't wear the accomodators the ankle swells and there is pain.  I want to know if this is common, could this be the best my ankle will get, and could the condition worsen with more activity.    Thanks.
