Hi there. I am so sorry to hear about this. Unfortunately hypoxic brain injury causes irreversible damage and this epileptic activity is due to the same. This would require lifelong care depending on the degree of neurological deficit and sequelae depending on the time lost before rescusitation was initiated and successful ventilation and circulation resumed. The deficits could be variable depending on the areas affected in the brain, loss of speech, paralysis, epilepsy, bowel and bladder control, mental retardation etc. you will know this after discussing with your child’s clinician. You may need to employ some nurse to help you with the increased level of care and supervision required especially with two more young children. Hope this helps. Take care.
