my daughter is 30 she has had an un-tethering at 13 and again at 21....she now ( for past 7 months) is experiencing progresive numbness in her right foot as well as some in her left one ....her bladder is showing weakness and spasmming....if surgery is considered what doctor in the US would the best choice....if she were not to go that way are there ways to prevent further deteioration.....

Was she checked for chiari malformation or a syrinx? When was her last set of MRI's and what area's were done?

A chiari specialist would be the best NS to see as they also treat all related conditions as well.
