throbbing left temporal lobe

throbbing left temporal lobe

Please - I am becoming rather desperate for answers...
I have experienced a very painful throbbing or pulsing pain in my left temporal lobe/left ear area for approx 12 -18 months now, on and off. I cannot ignore it and it distracts me from my day to day living activities. I have had 2 CT scans of the brain, a CT of the sinuses and a CT of the brain/petrous temp bones which have revealed no abnormalities. I am 32 and a non drinker/smoker. I have not had an MRI and I have to take over the counter medications nearly every day whilst trying to stay within the recommended guidelines. I do however have TMJ and i have received no formal treatment/assessment for this. I am so worried about brain tumours/cancer etc, please can you help me as I don't know what to do....

Hi,

Your symptoms are very likely due to TMJ. I would suggest you to wear a mouth guard and schedule an appointment with your dentist. Please do not worry on account of brain tumor because the scans would have picked up the tumor if it were present.

Good luck!
