thumb twitches consistently

thumb twitches consistently

I'm 15 years of age and I think I may have a tremor in my hand that is why I am posting this odd problem. Ok, so for a while now (about a couple of months) my thumb constantly twitches just like I fell this strange feeling in my thumb and my thumb just moves back in forth quickly for a couple of seconds then stops but none of my other fingers do that and have never twitched before i don't know what it is it doesn't hurt or anything it's just weird. I want to know what this is, and how can I fix it? I don't like it because it's moving involunterely (I'm sorry if my grammar isn't correct). and I use to skateboard alot a year ago and i do remember that i use to fall alot on my hands and hips and other stuff but not that bad. I have also jammed my thumb a year ago and I can crack it easily now like every 20 minutes i just raise my thumb and bend it and it snaps, it doesn't hurt but I use to do it alot and that's one idea I think may be the cause of my twitching but that's why I'm on here asking for a doctor's help. I'm going to forget about this website I just know it so just email me if you think you know the reason. I'm not going to check on here for the reason just email me:

Thank you all sincerely adam

Hi, Thank you for your question. This muscle spasm or twitch is also called as muscle fasciculation & appears when the muscle contracts on its own (without nerve stimulation).  Most of the times these symptoms occur without any underlying disorder & they are not harmful or may appear after viral illness/or long term illness. But sometimes this muscle twitching appears as atrophy and weakness of muscle as well. Most likely cause of this twitching with weakness/atrophy of muscle can be when the nerve supplying to hand/eye muscles is not functioning properly due to any neurological disorder. If you suffer continuous weakness and notice reduced strength of muscle bulk in areas, please arrange an appointment with a neurologist right away who will evaluate the possibilities here. Hope this information proves helpful to you.
