thumb twitching

Hi,
30 year old male who first noticed thumb and index finger twitching five years ago on and off. It has progressed to be constant in my left hand these days and increases with stress. I'm not overly concerned as it is progressing very slowly and isn't at the moment affecting my life. I exercise almost everyday and about every two months get a spasm in my back which until now I have put down to a slight scoliosis curvature of the spine which I have.
Would my tremor be essential or parkinson like and what would this rate of progression sound normal?
Any answers appreciated
