tickle in throat.

Hello and Thank you,   I was just wondering if you could tell me if any neuro problems would cause a constant tickling in a throat.  I had a virus about one yr ago and after that had some numbing in my right side.  well that has seem to go away but i get a tickle in my throat all the time.  Almost like a pinch.  Would nerves  cause that?  Thank you for your time

  Could it be a tic?
In tourettes syndrome there is very often
a constant need to clear the throat.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by pinching sensation in the throat.  Would need more information on the type of infection, what it involved, etc... But sounds more like chronic throat irritation than a primary nerve problem.  There are certain neurological disorders that are characterized by sensory changes in the throat, but these are typically very painful and not just tickling.  If the problem continues to bother you, consider an ENT specialist who can look down the throat with a scope to see if there is any damage or changes in the lining. Good luck.
