tingly and numb in cheeks possible allergy to medicine

hi. i have been on verapamil and prednisone for over a week(for migraines). the past few days i have been experiencing neck pain, facial swelling and tingling in cheeks. as a kid if you have ever stood on your head and then got up real quick...the blood rushing to your head type of feeling is what i am experiencing in my cheeks. if that makes sense. i went to my nuro today he said stop the verapamil it could be the cause. should i go to the ER? this is really bothering me and is there anything they can do at the ER for me?

Hi, had it been only facial sweeling, one could have thought of prednisone but swelling associated with pain and tingling is rightly suggestive of verapamil side effects.

Your symptoms will phase down in 5-6 days by itself as drug will at least this much time to wash out of your body. You won't achieve much visiting ER, best is to wait for 5-6 days.
