torn upper bicep

I am right handed and have been very active in sports for 51 years. I found my left bicep to become diformed and sensitive with certain movements. A friend informed me of a similar long bicep tear and said I would just have to live with it.
Any recomendations?

Hi,

How are you?
Torn bicep can occur either due to damage to the bicep tendon or injury to the bicep muscle.
It is usually seen in sports like weight lifting and body building.
Proper rehabilitation is essential after bicep injury. Treatment is usually surgery and depends on the site of injury and its extent.
Please consult an orthopedic specialist about it. Take care!
