transient sever throbing headache

It is not always but some times when I get up after sleep or just try to get up, I feel a very excruciating pain in the whole of my head. I feel as if the nerves on the back side of my head are throbing and I have to hold my head myself or seek the help of some one and only then I can get up.
Sometimes while walking also, I get a temporary headache and I have to stop from walking for a while. Then it subsides automatically.
I used to take naproxen 250 mg tablets earlier, not on regular basis but 1-2 tablets per day for some time and then stopping it for some time. It used to help me. But now I have been diagnosed with hypertension and thyroid problem and aspirin and anticoagulants have been provided and so naproxen has been stopped. I have again started getting the same problem. What can it be?
