treatment Advice request

Ive just got the NCV findings of my mother who has been suffering from quite a bit movement disorder in the lower portion. NCV findings states,
"Evaluation of the Left Peroneal Motor nerve showed reduced amplitude (2.5 mV). The Left Tibial Motor nerve showed prolonged distal onset latency (7.0 ms) and decreased conduction velocity (Knee-Ankle, 27.1 m/s). All remaining nerves (as indicated in the following tables) were within normal limits.

Can i have any explanation of the medical terms? what types of treatment is recommended under this circumstances.

Hi there. Reduced amplitude in left peroneal motor nerve indicates axonal disease. You have left tibial motor nerve neuropathy. Certain causes are compression of  nerve roots in the lumbar spine, B12 and folate deficiencies, hypothyroidism, diabetes usually causes distal sensory neuropathy, toxins, alcoholism, autoimmune disorders like rheumatoid arthritis, Multiple sclerosis etc. consult your neurologist for correlating the NCV  findings with clinical findings and the possible causes. Take care.
