trigeminal neuralgia in head/scalp

Hello,
I suffer from trigeminal neuralgia of the head/scalp. I'm taking prescribed medication, but the condition is still very painful.
Question? Are there remedies or solutions available that will allow me to dye my hair with the least amount of pain possible? Not being able to perform such menial hygiene tasks is driving me to distraction.

Hello,
For trigeminal neuralgia, medicines like anticonvulsants and antidepressants are very useful. Other treatment options include botox injections, microvascular decompression and Gamma Knife or a linear accelerator-based radiation therapy.

Please discuss these treatment options with your neurologist. Also have you got the possibility of temporal arteritis ruled out which can cause such pain and tenderness on scalp.
