ulnar nerve

what are the best scans to get done on the ulnar nerve from the wrist to the neck ?
if its using mri what should the correct settings be to provide the best diagnoses ?
also what sort of doctor should diagnose the scans ?

Hi there.

It is very hard to trace the course of the ulnar nerve through the MRI.  Other tests that can assess the ulnar nerve without the imaging modalities would include NCV (nerve conduction velocity) testing.  Cross sectional studies of the arm all the way to the spine may be employed, and the 3D image reconstructed to trace the ulnar nerve tract, but I don't think most centers can offer this approach.

just dont do any surgery if u can avoid it..there are no test..the MRI can only tell so much.
