thanks mate you have been a great help, and wish you the best of health
Jerry, i understand you are in the UK. Not any optometrist can evaluate you. I went to mine and he said my eyes are perfect and recomended I see another neurologist. After I had cancelled my appointment with the doctor in Michigan, becuse I had e-mailed her what the optometrist said, she called me at home to reassure me she could help and he was wrong. She was right, he was wrong. Try to e-mail them and ask them if there is anyone in the UK who they recomend. If anything, she will call or e-mail you back. I have nothing to do with the site, just trying to help people, as I was helped. She can evaluate your symptoms and give you an honest opinion. It takes a few perscriptions of fractional prism placed in the particular lenses to get it right. Your glasses become your medicine and you are 100% more functional. Good Luck.
many thanks what you said first got me thinking that it can be my eyes, i will get them checked, and if a do get better i cannot thank you enough for your help,....as i am in the UK what sort of clinic am i looking meaning a name of the test which i might need? i think i will first get my eye tested as the glasses i am wearing the percription is i little wrong meaning my one eye is weaker than the other
I am 90% cured, with a follow up visit this Monday. It should be 100%. The eyes have been tense for so long, there is an adjustment period, as they relax. You must get used to a new normal, but you are 100% more functional and the anxiety that is associated with it is gone. It is worth the e-mail to them to find out your options. An ENG is the test for an involuntary movement of the eyes, known as nystagmus.
did you manange to cure the problem or are you still getting it, oh and what is ENG, i an in the uk
Hi Jerry,
I have had all the same tests, including going to the Neurologist. Mine actually said, unless I had some new disorder, it must be all in my head. You have know idea how hard it was, not to get up and smack him. Then I stumbled across some hope and maybe I can help you. You have to ask yourself if it could be your eyes. An optometrist cannot evaluate you, unless they are a specialist, of which there are only three in the USA. The ENG cannot catch this either, If you are getting no answers, try www.VSofB.com . Check out the symptoms and testimonials and if that sounds like you, contact them. It is called "vertical heterophoria syndrome". It is the "syndrome" part that is important. There are no drugs and no surgery involved. Good luck.
