unbalanceness

hi i am a 30 year old male, i been suffering from this unbalance/dizziness for the past 4 years but until early this year its been manageable meaning been doing everyday things and work, but since the last 8 months i been off work due to this, i get a very unbalance feeling when i make certain movements of my head for example if i tilt my head to the side and  straighten my head again, its even worse if i am standing, but something’s it just comes on out of the blue ,i also tend to swerve to my left when i get this feeling, also my blood pressure been little high but i think its just because i been stressed.

i seen my neurologist who sent me for the following tests
MRI---they found a cysts back of the brain but after looking into it says its noting to worry about
BLOOD/URINE TESTS----had many but all ok
ENT---had various test soom looking at a dot and following it, standing on form pillow, hearing test, test where they put water in my ear to see if the balance organ is working, but its all ok
24 HOUR BLOOD PRESSURE---waiting results but i think it will be normal

i am seeing my neurologist in January so i am getting a feeling he wouldn’t say anything saying everything is ok, my question is what tests can i suggest to him so that they can get to the bottom of this as i need to get to work and get back to normal, do you think they could be a problem in my neck as it always stiff and feels really weird plus movement always triggers these attacks.
many thanks if you could help

Jerry, i understand you are in the UK. Not any optometrist can evaluate you. I went to mine and he said my eyes are perfect and recomended I see another neurologist. After I had cancelled my appointment with the doctor in Michigan, becuse I had e-mailed her what the optometrist said, she called me at home to reassure me she could help and he was wrong. She was right, he was wrong. Try to e-mail them and ask them if there is anyone in the UK who they recomend. If anything, she will call or e-mail you back. I have nothing to do with the site, just trying to help people, as I was helped. She can evaluate your symptoms and give you an honest opinion. It takes a few perscriptions of fractional prism placed in the particular lenses to get it right. Your glasses become your medicine and you are 100% more functional. Good Luck.

I am 90% cured, with a follow up visit this Monday. It should be 100%. The eyes have been tense for so long, there is an adjustment period, as they relax. You must get used to a new normal, but you are 100% more functional and the anxiety that is associated with it is gone. It is worth the e-mail to them to find out your options. An ENG is the test for an involuntary movement of the eyes, known as nystagmus.

Hi Jerry,

I have had all the same tests, including going to the Neurologist. Mine actually said, unless I had some new disorder, it must be all in my head. You have know idea how hard it was, not to get up and smack him. Then I stumbled across some hope and maybe I can help you. You have to ask yourself if it could be your eyes. An optometrist cannot evaluate you, unless they are a specialist, of which there are only three in the USA. The ENG cannot catch this either, If you are getting no answers, try www.VSofB.com . Check out the symptoms and testimonials and if that sounds like you, contact them. It is called "vertical heterophoria syndrome". It is the "syndrome" part that is important. There are no drugs and no surgery involved. Good luck.
