Hi Sandra -
I'm not a doctor, but I have a relative with dermatomyositis. Even though she had had the disease before, the very doctor who diagnosed her years ago, refused to believe it had returned. So she traveled to the Mayo in FL, and again, that doctor said she didn't have all the symptoms as before, however, he wanted to do a muscle biopsy to be on the safe side. And viola - her dermatomyosistis was back. GO TO MAYO!

Thanks for using the forum. I am happy to address your questions, and my answer will be based on the information you provided here. Please make sure you recognize that this forum is for educational purposes only, and it does not substitute for a formal office visit with a doctor.
Without the ability to examine and obtain a history, I can not tell you what the exact cause of the symptoms is. However I will try to provide you with some useful information.
First of all, you probably should post your question on a dermatology forum. I cannot comment on your pictures. Also, many medications can cause some of the symptoms you describe.
Regarding the tinnitus and occasional hearing loss, there is a condiation called Meniere’s disease that includes these symptoms, but also includes dizziness. This would be best diagnosed by a specialist in the ear, nose, throat community.
Lastly, sometimes symptoms as you describe may reflect emotional/psychiatric problems related to stress (what is called somatization disorder).
Thank you for this opportunity to answer your questions, I hope you find the information I have provided useful, good luck.
