unequal pupils

I am 20 and have had ongoing issues regarding my eyes. About two years ago I woke up one morning with a droopy eyelid and double vision. Strangely two or three weeks later the droopy eyelid changed to the other eye before disappearing leaving my eyes normal again.
I had tests for Myasthenia Gravis but nothing showed up.
In the last few weeks my pupils have become uneven. The doc says they are slow to react as well.
I have had a CAT scan and there is nothing out of the ordinary. The CAT scan was compared to the CAT scan I had two years ago and they show all is normal. I am off to see a Neurologist again soon as I saw one two years ago. Others suggestions are MS, as this is familiar in my family.
I've been on Zoloft for a few years and was wondering if this can cause some weird effects.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I have a 14yr daughter.  Out of the clear blue, one pupil dilated completely and the other was a pin hole.  Was examined by a Neuro Opthamologist and is scheduled for an MRI.  Eye exam seemed normal and just requested thyroid studies to be done.  Any ideas?

Hi,

You mentioned about dizziness and loss of consciousness?

Does this happen often?

Are there any remarkable circumstances surrounding these episodes eg excessive emotion, overwhelming tasks?

Any problems with your menstrual cycle?

Dizziness may be caused by inner ear problems, neurologic problems ,vascular deficiencies , anemia, poor nutrition, problems with vision.

How is your diet? Any change in diet regimen lately.

Have you experienced any ringing in your ears, deafness, fullness in the ears?

Peripheral vascular diseases that may cause blockage of the arteries that supply blood to the brain may cause dizziness.A carotid doppler scan may be requested to detect problems with blood flow.

All together the drooping of your eyelids, doubling of your vision and dizziness point to a nerve related problem. However other aforementioned causes have to be ruled out.

Good luck!

Thankyou for your response.
I am female and have been taking Zoloft since I was fifteen for depression. I forgot to add I did have an MRI a few years back again all normal. May be my next visit with a Neurologist will require another MRI. I see the Doc again next week for a referral. He is checking out who's the best Neuroligist to see for a second opinion.
I do suffer bouts of dizziness occasionally. I did pass out once when getting out of the bath. Went dizzy, passed out and knocked two teeth out.

Hi,

Can you tell me more about yourself?
Are you male or female?
For how long have you been taking your medications?

Although your medication is known to cause some neurolgic side effects like drooping of the  eyelids and visual problems,a family history of multiple sclerosis might warrant further evaluation of your condition.I suggest you seek consult with a neurologist.Multiple sclerosis (MS) in majority of cases usually present with eye symptoms and associated  dizziness. A complete neurological examination and diagnostics that may include an MRI and evoked potential testing may also shed some light on your case.

Good luck!
