Venous angiomas are congenital lesions although they are thought to be non hereditary. Persons are born with these lesions and do not develop it later on in life.
However sometimes these venous angiomas are not readily visible on MRI at first, they undergo evolutionary changes which makes them visible later on life.
This is probably what must have happened in your case although it is a very rare case.
