during this entire time, only headache on saturday. thats it. no sore throat. stuffy nose in the beginning moving to respiratory coughs etc. its weird because ive had episodes of over night fevers in the past with no other flu symptoms like coughing runny nose. just fever and fatigue. one happend in march of 2009, one in August 2009, now latest one in October. one in october is different because actual coughs and runny nose etc are indeed present.
I do not want to think this is ALS. since vertigo seems to be out of line with ALS and Im only 21. I have not tripped nor dropped anything. Although I am more clumsy with my fingers. and speech slur, but that could just be something else. lyme disease? maybe but I cannot remember being in a wooded place where huge ticks are biting onto me. no rash either. no joint pain. autoimmune neuro disease? i dont know.
bump. my legs feel heavier than before. typing is more accurate clumsiness in hand is less. terrible back ache. lower spine. needle sensation in my middle toes on both feet.
I think you have an ordinary bona-fide cold or flu-like virus. It's not necessarily going to show up on a blood test. I got sick back in February, lasted forever, and I had that dizzy, chills, sweat, fever type thing. At first I thought it was a cold, but then I realized it was some kind of flu. Then I found out that a lot of people in town had it. All I could do is just lay around and rest, which your doctor said you should do. The reason your legs feel heavy is because your body is fighting off the illness, and that weakens a person big-time.
So, you should drink lots of water, try to eat even if you don't want to, drink a little bit of orange juice every day, take an alka seltzer for aches, and try to stay warm and rested at home. It's going to take you two weeks to get it totally back together, call and see can your doc send you an excuse if you need one. Take your temperature every couple days, and if it goes over, say, 103 over a period of three hours, then go back to your doc.
so I still feel like I am not better. my limbs still feel heavy and crappy. my spine is still stiff and sore. what is the deal. my chest feels restricted. i still get occasional dizziness. what is wrong with me. im tired of these symptoms.
hot flashes in the face, which i got at the beginning. muscle tiredness generally better. no fever. dizziness constant. uncomfortable chest feels like there is pressure.
I have gone to a internal medicine doctor. he ordered several more tests to see if I had lupus, mono, or any irregularities in the blood. also did a chest xray. all of the tests came back completely normal. he thinks its a viral syndrome. I did get bitten with numerous mosquitoes while i was in japan, roughly two weeks before symptoms started.
weak limbs have greatly improved. my chest pain is also gone. sore back is also improving.
what im starting to have these days, mild headaches, what feels like a partial seizure during sleep, upper chest dull pain when i breathe out, constant clearing of throat, bad far sight vision, very very forgetful, terrible memory.
All of these symptoms are annoying and this week its been tough for me to get a good night rest as I am woken up by sudden gushing uncontrollable thoughts going through my head during sleep. Its been over month and half.
ive read that viral syndromes stay for months to years...is there anything I can do? what is wrong with me?
When I had that flu I told you about, went on forever. I drank decaff Enchinacea tea (tastes terrible), helps the immune system. You should change toothbrushes, sterlize handles and knobs you touch a lot with alcohol, like refrigerator handle, all spigot knobs, all doorknobs, the telephone, stuff like that. Right now, sleep is your last step to becoming well. All this time you've been sick, there's no way you can get a solid night's sleep. Sounds like you're finally catching up with your dreams. As long as it's not cold outside, sitting in the fresh air and sunlight helps. Drink a small glass of orange juice daily. And every chance you get, rest, rest, rest, becuz you've been through a lot.
