It is difficult to understand what you mean by head banging. A simple accident, which did not lead to any other symptom, rarely produces vertigo lasting so long. It is possible that you are relating the start of another kind of vertigo to the injury that you had.
Any of the above causes of vertigo can be treated by visiting a doctor specialising in diseases of the ear, nose and throat. Do visit the doctor, and do get back if you have other queries.
Vertigo has many causes. Usually diseases of the ear like infections, Meniere's disease, ischemia, trauma; diseases of the eye can be the cause. Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo is a very common cause.
