what causes tingling sensation in the face and head

For many years I have suffered with Seizures and Migraines. Some of these migraines are accompanied with a tingling sensation in my face and head. Sometimes this sensation is on both sides of my face and other times it only affects one side or the other.  I am trying to find out what causes this.

I've noticed tingling only in the left side of my face, usually around my eyes, side of my nose, and around my mouth. Usually accompanied with a headache. Signs of migraines or anxiety? What do you think?

I don't have seizures either, migraines depends on whether you are asking me or my doctors....when I have the tingling in my face, I also get a headache, but not a bad headache.  My husband has migraines and they are very very painful.  My headaches are mild but my doctors still say that the tingling is part of a migraine.  I also have had all kinds of tests and all are normal.  I am supposed to call the neurologist and get in so they can do the tests while the episode is ongoing.  Problem is that it only lasts about 24 hours and they can never get me in and get a test scheduled before the symptoms start to fade.  It is comforting to read that someone else has these symptoms and it is not just me but discouraging that no one seems to know what causes it!  Don't know if it will help you, but seeing my chiropractor seems to help.  He says that medically, there is no reason why his treatment on my neck should help my symptoms but they do.  You might try it.

Some of my doctors say it from the migraines and some say it from the seizures.  I'm to write it down in my calendar, go to the doctor or go to the ER, so it can be logged in. You are right they seem to think "its all in your head".  You are also right it is very frustrating.  If I find any thing out I will keep you posted. Thanks, Sandy

I really can't answer your question, I don't have seizures, but I do get migraines.  I have had tingling sensations in both my head and face for 8 years now, have had every tests to man done and everything is normal.  I chalk it up to anxiety/migraines/cervical disk problems.  I dunno, but it is frustrating when nobody can tell you why, they just say "its all in your head" duh.
