Hi,

How are you?
MMN is multifocal motor neuropathy. It is a progressive muscle disorder characterized by muscle wasting, cramping, and involuntary contractions or twitching of muscles.
It is often confused with ALS, though unlike ALS it is treatable. The early cases require no treatment. In patients with severe symptoms IVIG (intravenous immunoglobulins) are given or an immunosuppressive therapy like cyclophosphamide is given.
Improvement in symptoms starts 4-6 weeks after treatment.
Hope this helps!
