Hello,

Pain down the side of the leg is commonly termed sciatice if it is due to compression on the sciatic nerve, due to disc herniation in the lumbosacral spine. Similar pain can be caused by sacroiliac joint disease, hip joint disease. This may also be due to peripheral neuropathy which has many causes. Unless the full history is known and physiical examination is done, it cannot be known as to ehy you have pain in the side of your leg.
