whats all apart of epilepsy

my fiance has epilepsy, and i was wondering, what all can be a part of epilepsy?  Christopher, my fiance, has a huge anger problem and rage problem and he also lies about small stupid things that he doesnt have to lie about, he has crazy mood swings and he acts like an adolesence.  Is this part of the chemical imbalance in his brain?a

doesnt sound like it, sam.  epilepsy is when there the myelin shealth on the neurons in the brain isnt completely formed and then like in a house when an electrical wire is bare - there may be sparks.  in the brain there is sometimes an electrical storm when the neurons fire because they are not insulated properly.  They may fire too much and sometimes uncontrollably causing a seizure.    Anger and rage may be an outcome of having epilepsy, but if his epilepsy in of an unknown origin or idiopathic, chances are mood swings and anger shouldn't play a part physiologically.  If something else is causing the epilepsy such as a lesion of some kind in the brain - then yes, absolutely anger, mood shifts, personality changes may all be part of it.
