Hi there. These symptoms are pointing towards trigeminal neuralgia, which is a nerve disorder causing a stabbing or electric shock like pain in parts of face. This can affect part of or all of face and surface of eye. Trigeminal neuralgia may be caused by multiple sclerosis and pressure on the trigeminal nerve from a swollen blood vessel or tumor. one may have very painful, sharp electric like spasms that lasts for few seconds to minutes, pain on one side of the face, often around the eye, cheek and lower part of face, triggered by everyday activities like chewing, eating, light touching face etc. tests done are blood tests, MRI head and trigeminal reflex testing. Treatment includes anti seizure drugs like carbamazepine, phenytoin, muscle relaxants, tricyclic antidepressants etc. surgical techniques may be needed like cutting or destroying part of trigeminal nerve, surgery to remove a blood vessel or tumor that is putting pressure on the trigeminal nerve. Hope this helps. Take care.
