My 8 year old African American daughter suffers form migraine headaches associated with mild nausea and sensitivity to loud noises. One month ago she had an episode of vertigoBenign positional vertigo Dizziness Vertigo Vertigo-associated disorders, with the ability to stand yet inability to walk which resolved itself after 36 hours. Her MRI showed nonspecific findings in the white matter. What does this mean and what are we dealing with? Does her clinical symptoms fit her MRI findings?
Migraine headaches are known to be associated with some white matter lesions. But in your daughter's case, I do not think the brain lesions are significant. She may have got the lesions at birth.
