white spots on brain and headaches

I have been suffering from a headache most of the time since July (this is November).  I have been to the chiropractor, orthopeadic and general doctor.  I have been tested for some things and they have found the following:  numerous white spots on the brain, T1 in neck has vascular hamangeoma, a couple of bulging disks and a headache that takes over the left side of myhead into my eyes and ear.  I have a bump on the left side of my head that does not show in an xray.  I have pain in my jaw and popping in my ear and under my eyes.  I have also had my gallbladder remived, a complete hysterectomy and after a CT scan was taken a year or so ago, I have 2 cysts on my left kydney and some calcified granulomas in my lungs.  I have not had any trauma.  My joints are stiff and right side foot, knee and hand give me problems and swell.  Confusion and memroy loss are also a concern of mine.  I can forget something very shortly after I have had a conversation and cannot stay focused on anything.  I am getting ready to go to a neurologist in two weeks and need to know what to ask.  I feel that there is something underlying and I am anxious to find out what it is.  Please help me.  I am 40 yo female and am in real pain a lot of the time.

my name is marina, live in canada, and as well was told I have a lot of whites spots on the brain I had an mri done and that is what is showed although the doctor  feels it could be because of my age (53) i also have tingling in my hands and thighs and feet, could this be ms. The doctor said to wait for 3 months and do a nother mri and if the test come back with more white spots then we will know that is could be progressive ms. He also feels that it could be harding of the artery in my brain
just very confused about the whole thing.

tks

Hi, I feel that my symptoms are similar to yours. Check out my posting Jan 3 09 8.35am. Ammonia/Clorox
I have been trying to rule out causes for over a year. My latest shot in the dark is could I have exposed myself to Ammonia/Clorox and inhaled it accidentally. Mold, I'm sure is a possibility too. My neurologist has been very helpful, patient and considerate but I feel like I have to figure this out for myself. It's a relief to know that there are others out there with similar symptoms and MRI findings.
My MRA was negative. Let's share info as we find it.Good luck.

hi boomer, you wont believe it  i dont have the results with me but they are the same, the best of the worst i think, dont panic and i dont trust them either, if you have that feeling get a new doctor. i have to have another mir soon to see how its progressing but you know my friend, i am finding the more i worry about it the worse i get, is that the same with you. you can live a long life with multiple sclerosis, i am relieved. My headaches have eased but a lot has changed in my life, i have found a new friend that i laugh with a lot, taking long walks on the beach, spending time with my son and my dog. darl i hope this problem is not taking over your life, you sound to nice to let that happen.  my doctor has given me migraine tablets too but i take ibrufen (anti inflamitry) for my headaches, i am on a health kick and dont want to put to much more stuff in my body. sorry its taken me so long to get back to you, i have been very happy, and its been a long time since i have felt this way as i have looked after other people all my life and now i have someone who is wanting to take care of me. write soon and if iam not being to personal would you mind telling me about your life a little, as in are you happy etc. not a stalker just a career. take care my friend and dont worry to much it could be alot worse. xxxxx

Hi there, did you go to the doctor and have the other tests done?  I have the results of my MRI with contrast in hand and is says "tiny subcortical TX hyperintensities bilaterally not within the expented distribbution of demylelinating plaques of multiple sclerosis and appear nonspecifi and should be correlated with clinical presentation."  I am taking that as good news.  My doctor, as slow as he is, does not seem to be concerned in the least and says that I have migraines and has put me on Topmax (or something like that) and the headaches are better but my memory is shot and I am tired most of the time.  I don't know what is worse.  He is working with my insurance to get an MRA of the neck done now.  We will see but let me know how you are doing and what you find out.

thanks for responding to me, i totally understand where you are coming from when you say all these weird things that happen at once, the same has happened to me, slurring of words, ear thing etc got new things now like a shaking inside my body, i cant really see it if i hold my hands out its more i can feel it.memory is shot with some things but good with others, i used to be terrible with peoples names that has got better but if i go to say something i am finding i cant remember what it was, frustrating because i feel stupid sometimes.like you the bumps on my head i believe are muscles too but the main one that gives me problems is in my right temple. i went out last night and had a few drinks, i dont drink much at all, three beers and i am well on my way and the last time i had a drink was about 6mths ago, last night was weird, i was walking up the road and i couldnt walk straight, i am not a staggera at all, i couldnt control it, my friend said, inocently that its just the alcohol but i know that i wasnt, strange feeling, i wont be doing that to often even if my problem is not good i didnt like the feeling at all, not being in control of my legs, but my head wasnt to bad. arhhh weird. i have another test to go to tomorrow, i wasnt told what sort of test because my g.p fast tracked the test by ringing the specialist and getting him to send the test papers to the radiology dept. when i find out what test i have had and what the results are i will get back in touch. again thankyou for writing to me.  regards  sandie     dec 28th 6.30pm n.s.w

Thank you for responding.  I had the original mri about 8 weeks ago and found the white spots.  I just a few days ago had an mri with contrast and they say is came back okay.  We are now waiting to set up an MRA of the neck and brain.  The ringing in my ears is better now and the pain in my ears is on the outside of my earsm, mostly on the top of the ear.  Kind of hard to explain but where the ear is connected to the head.  The bump on my head is on my forehead and since then I have had two more bumps come up right between my eyebrows and the doctor says that they are my muscles.  He is the one with the license.... but I just don't know.  I am slurring my words a little and losing my thoughts alot.  I am trying not to worry about that.  The more we worry, the more things go wrong.  I have been put on migraine medicine because the doctor said that the white spots could come from migraines.  The headaches are better.  I originally posted because I had so many things that were weird and all at once.  Things are better so far.  Keep me posted on you.

boomer, the bulging discs in your neck could be causing alot of the headaches, some chiropractors are dodgy, unless they massage your neck and make it warm before malipulating it go to another chiro, the muscles in your neck pull the bones back out again not long after they have been cracked, this is because the muscles have been supporting your neck in the out of place way for a long time. the chiro will keep having you come back time and time again doing the same thing but nothing will get better unless those things i mentioned are done first, this all takes time though. the bump on your left side of your head, is it near your temple? if so i have the same thing but on the right, there is a gland there. i also have the ear popping thing, like when you go up a big hill, thats what it is like for me except i cannot unblock it. i also have been having ear pain its like someone poking a pencil in it. how long ago did you have the brain scan? x

My name is sandie and i am from australia, i have also been suffering very similar symptoms. i just had a c.t scan of my brain and now my doctor has fast tracked me to have another type of scan, i cannot offer you advice on what you might have but i can say you are not alone, i too am very scared and contimplating my future as it takes time to have these tests done. i to am young, 43yr old and female. if i find out some sort of idea of what this is i will message you back asap. try not to panic and enjoy life as much as possible. one question are you slurring your words at all, or saying things that sound alright to you but others say, no you said this? 24th Dec 08
