yellow drainage from nostril following root canal

I have had yellowish drainage from one nostril for the last two days. It comes on suddenly, like a faucet and then stops.  I thought it was a nosebleed at first but the drainage is yellowish.  It just happened for the third time a little while ago and suddenly thoughts of brain cancer came over me and I began to panic.  However, I have seen other postings with regard to drainage following a root canal.  Does anyone else have anything like this following a root canal?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,
The cause for your symptoms could be a sinus infection .It could have been aggravated by a dental infection . Since sometimes the roots of teeth are very close or inside the sinus , periapical infection of the tooth may cause pus formation in the sinus . If the pus doesn’t come out through the tooth canals , it is likely that discharge will be through the nose . Please consult your dentist and ENT surgeon for examination and diagnosis. Hope this helps you . Take care and regards !
