Cavernous Sinus Meningioma

Cavernous Sinus Meningioma

I am a 54 y/o woman, diagnosed with a cavernous sinus meningioma 11/10. It has enclosed the r internal carotid and cranial nerves V and VI.  I am aysmptomatic. Initial MRI showed it to be 3cm x 2 cm x 1.9 cm.  NS advised to wait 3 months and re scan.  Had my 3 month scan 3/17/11, and my NS advised that it not grown and we will wait 6 months and re scan.  Just recieved the MRI report and it states that it is now 3.5cm x 2.8cm x 2.3 cm.  I'm confused, this is growth to me.  It is 1 cm from the optic nerve.  Inititally I was told that total resection was not possible and I was a candidate for Gamma Knife.  Now he is telling me that I am no longer a candidate for GK and will in the future have full fractionated radiation, but wants to watch for 6 months. I'm concerned by the lack concern on his part.  I do not want it grow closer to optic nerve and not be able to have the radiation.  Any advice would be appreciated!
