Herniated L4-5 disc

I wrote to you a few days ago concerning numbness and weakness in my legs and pain in my back. I did have a return visit and the neurosurgeon is going to perform surgery L4-5 but first he insist on a myelogram because I have had previous surgery and he wanted to see the spinal colum and the condition of the L5 S1 to make sure that the problem is not coming from this disc also. What are your views and is it really necessary to have myelogram or is it a more sure test than the mri that I had done. I am having myelogram with contrast flex.& ext. and CT scan of lumbar. Since there is so much numbness on the left side and I am herniated on the right side, could there possibly be damage in the spine that can show up on myelogram or CT?

There is not too much common things between CT and myelogram. In my school no Myelograms anymore done by neurosurgeons since 10 years. so I can't give you an objective opinion.
But I can understand better the dynamism of your vertebral column just when you sent me a downloaded attacment of your lumbar MRI along with a simple X-ray Flexion/Extension (also known as dynamic views x-rays). Thank you
