Is there any effect intervention other than drugs for sciatic pain caused by post -op nerve root scar tissue ?

In 1989 I had to have a micro-discectomy following a herniated disc at L5S1. After a few months of being pain free the symptoms of sciatica and pain returned and it was eventually necessary to have the op repeated in 1992. I have had chronic sciatic pain and discomfort since then which is due to scar tissue which built up on the nerve roots due to the surgical procedures.  I am not involved in any litigation although I know several people who had similar procedures and are now well. I lead a full life thanks to gabapentin and amitriptyline, plus occasional voltarol. Am currently experiencing a flare-up which is not responding to the usual rest and gentle stretching that normally helps me. This has been going on for the past 6 weeks and I don't know what to do about it.
My question is.....is there any treatment available anywhere which can appeal to internal scar tissue in the area of the spine?  I try to follow the latest treatments and have noticed the use of laser treatments.  Is there a neurologist anywhere who is able to treat the adhesions that prevent the spinal nerves from working healthily?
If this work is happening in another country I'd consider it, though obviously it would be fantastic if something were available in the UK.
With grateful thanks,
Aligrun

On our Medhelp pages, Dr Prem Pillay may help you, otherwise I would like to follow up your case if you agree.

Sorry cannot seem to find the place I need to get to online.  How do I navigate to Dr Pillay on the Medhelp pages? I'd very much like to get his answer.
Thank you,
Alison
