Lower back bilateral buttocks to heal nerve pain

by SuzySunshine, Jun 13, 2009 01:31PM
Hello Dr.'s.
I am an RN of 16 yrs who's back is shot.  Many muscular injuries in my history, but in 2007, the pain turned nerve.  Lower back just above buttocks bilaterally and nerve pain shooting to both heels.  Tests are uninpressive.
Multiple MRI's, EMG's, MRI to test for piriformans, discography all non impressive.  Multiple epidurals, very short relief.  The only relief I have ever had for 27hrs was a facet block.  I know it was just a test, but the relief was so wonderful. I wish I could have an implanted block for this area to have constant relief.

I have had 2 radiofrequencies. Oct08 low lumbar to sacral no help at all.  April09 higher in lumbar.  Helped for 1 month, then I was stuck in traffic for 21/2 hrs and the pain returned w/a vengance.

Just saw the pain. mgmt doc and she want's to do another radiofrequency, because she thinks the first one may have helped a little and the nerves grown back.

I don't want to have radiofreq. every few months.  I want to get off all painfillers and have a normal life. My life is so bad.  I have a husband and two beautiful girls.  I cannot do bedside nursing anymore(no biggie, I'm 42 anyway), I cannot do physical things w/my kids and can;t do chores around the house as much, no bathing the kids etc.  Big burden for my husband.  He is so upset at the lack of help for me.

Can someone help me?  I am so depressed!  Help!

your case is so typical and easy to resolve; you need a '' block'' implantation, so go to a neurosurgeon and ask for a CCD (no matter what he will call that; spinal arthrodesis, instrumentations, screws and rods..) you have right to have a pain relieving procedure.
to know where should the arthrodesis be inserted, you do a lumbar dynamic view x-ray, such called flexion and extension.
your life will become back beautiful
waiting for feedback
