Dear doctor,
6 months ago,My orthopedist operated upon this 40 year old muscular guy who works as a blacksmith, for he had a post-traumatic arm pain and tingling that did not respond to any analgesics..The EMG came normal before the operation though, still my orthopedist did this exploration and transposition surgery but unfortunately the patient did not feel any better after the surgery,on the contrary he felt more pain and the EMG came even worse, moreover he is sueing my orthopedist now and demanding this huge indemnity! The case is presented to the court while the forensic dep. says its word. My question is this( was my orthopedist correct about making the decision of exploration and transposition even though the EMG was normal?)My doctor will be needing this answer as a testimony in his defense. Please do get back at me via my e-mail as soon as possible cuz the case is critical. Thnx

dear, medico-legal issues are not even discussed on this site. i can just tell you that almost always a doctor is right and a patient is never obliged to be treated. This is in the absolut state. This rule may be partially changed in particular disease.
