T1/T2 disc removal

T1/T2 disc removal

Hi My neurosurgeon says I need to have the disc removed at T1/T2.This seems to be a very rare and I cannot find much info. I have a two part question. My pain is shoulder, collar bone and upper arms mostly. Can this be coming from the T1nerve root being pressed on? And second he is saying he would do the surgery from the back and not do a fusion because the area is very stable and the disc he would remove is small.

Thanks

Nobody can conventionally remove a Th1-Th2 vertebral disc through a "back incision".
Such a compression at this level do not answer for the symptoms you are experiencing.

I have cervical, lumbar,Thorascic Herniation's. My t section I have been told is severe and they are touching the spinal cord on the side and front of it.I go see a surgeon in Nash,Tenn. He told me the surgery is very dangerous and mri's 2xyr.I am scared he told me I was showing symptoms of needing the surgery but they go through the chest and move my heart and lungs. My question is Can I be paralyzed if I don't have it.My pain is great but I also have Lupus,Sorjerns Symdrome,Fibromyalgia and Artherhitis could be RA.Also could they possibly ever move away from th s cord. Thanks!

to give you a clear answer I should see in a way you MRI, because you are a victime of other family of diseases like you mentioned; systemic disease, I have more doubt about your thoracic disc.. anyways no need to worry because the surgery is only done laterally through a small back incision... the heart will be intact the lung could be gently retracted about half or one centimeter...
