pain on left side of head

by Ringa14, Sep 23, 2009 09:49AM
I was recently running and had to stop because of a sharp pain on left side of head. The most severs pain I have ever experienced. I went to ER my BP was 166/110 they did a CT scan which was normal and BP after 4 hours was 152/90. I then had a MRI/MRA which was also normal. I continue to have pain at that location but not as severe as the first time. Any exercise or strenuous activity brings pain back. My BP at DRs office was 145/90 he wasn't concerned. Who should I see next? My parents and brotther are on BP meds since there forties. I am 45. My side also has had strokes at early ages. I am on cholesterol meds but that is it. Family insists it is BP giving headaches. I left DRs office with no concern so I feel it must be something else. Can a MRI be as subjective as an EKG ? Electrophysiologist saw more on my daughter's EKG than her regular Cardiologist. Should it be read by a Neurologist?

Are you stating that there is no intracranial  hemorrhage because MRI/MRA was normal?
Do you feel BP was elevated enough to be on meds? Physician felt he was in pain and nervous at the time otherwise BP has been borderline for the last 2 yrs
