should i have neck surgery or some other treatment?

I have a central disc protrusion at C5-6 and a large left foraminal disc extrusion at C6-7 i have pain in my arm and sometimes my thumb is hurting and the finger next to the thumb is numb,what do you think is the best treatment for me?
